Indrajalin or Indy as he prefers it, comes from a long line of Garudas who have abandoned the Garuda community and their true Garuda form (choosing to remain in human form in the human realm), causing his family to have long forgotten how to revert to their true selves. The only remaining part of their Garuda form that they can choose to manifest or not are their wings and talons. When Indy's asked by his friends about his true form, he answers "I saw a picture of my great great great great great grandmother's Garuda form. It wasn't pretty."

Indy's family have also tried to abandon their Garuda ways, such as preying and feeding on snakes, their natural enemy. However since snakes make up their main source of life, and other food does not seem to do the job very well, his family has implemented a "One-snake-meal-a-day" diet, to keep them alive long enough to carry out their human lives. It's because of this diet that Indy often feels lethargic and dazes off at random moments. He's notorious for falling asleep in class. Indy also chooses not to hide his wings in his human form, as that requires more energy.

Because of animal instincts, Indy hates Mikhail's guts, but at the same time has a strong urge to nibble on his hair (which becomes the topic of many jokes amongst his friends). He also feels cold very often and wears a lot of thick clothing, hoodies, jackets and such, because his race originated in naturally hot and humid parts of the world.

Indy is a shy and reserved guy, and is often indifferent towards many things, and it's because he truly doesn't care how he should feel about anything. Because of him feeling indifferent about everything, he's not very good at making friends, and is unsure of how to react to people, which sometimes makes him a bit of an asshole when it comes to girls.

He does however care about his two best friends Suyi and Jeremy, and he does enjoy going to Wormwood High. He is oblivious to Suyi's crush on him, but he treats her like a dear little sister. He doesn't have very good grades due to him always falling asleep in class, but he is especially talented in art, which makes Art his favorite teacher. He uses his art skill to write the subduing spell on Suyi's talismans (he does not know Chinese characters, but is very good at forging them).

I wanted to name him Ink, but then I remembered I already have another character named INK. 8D Also the inspiration for the Garuda came from my Indonesian maid who told me the Garuda is the national bird on their national flag.

Also, I find mohawks or any hairstyles of this kind...sexy.
